I am a professional photojournalist based in Ottawa, Canada and available world-wide. I am minutes from Parliament Hill, The Supreme Court of Canada, and the headquarters of all federal government ministries. Ottawa is served by the Ottawa International Airport with multiple daily connections to anywhere in the world.
I am also available for editorial, event and travel photography here in Ottawa or world-wide.
I was born in Sudbury and have lived and traveled extensively throughout the world. Educated at the University of British Columbia, my love of photography began when my father gave me my first 35 mm camera at the age of 18 when I decided Belfast, Northern Ireland in the late 1980s would be a great first solo trip abroad.
The trip left an indelible mark on me and my photography from that time – photographing the lives and surroundings of those living in impoverished West Belfast – began a love affair of documenting the human condition for social change that continues to this day.
Always looking for ways to make a difference, I volunteer my time at a wide variety of projects such as coaching, teaching, and sitting on the board of directors of not-for-profit organizations.
I am a Canadian Press contributor and have been published in newspapers, magazines, and media websites worldwide most recently including The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Huffington Post, Maclean’s Magazine, Vancouver Sun, Ottawa Citizen, Financial Post, CTV, CBC, Applied Arts, Mountain Life magazine, PhotoEd magazine and others.
